The 20th anniversary of Contemporary Istanbul was celebrated with Akbank as the main partner and Tersane Istanbul as a co-partner, all within its historic atmosphere.
On the opening night, a distinguished gathering—from representatives of international art institutions to collectors and gallerists—experienced an evening immersed in art at Aliée Istanbul. The night grew even more vibrant and unforgettable with a captivating performance by Gaye Su Akyol. In his opening speech, Contemporary Istanbul Chairman of the Board Ali Güreli reflected on the fair’s 20-year journey, stating:
“Contemporary Istanbul has become a continuous and productive cultural platform that reinforces Istanbul’s position as an international capital.” Meanwhile, Tersane Istanbul Chairman of the Board Fettah Tamince summarized the vision of the venue with the following words:
“Tersane Istanbul is no longer merely a project; it is a living value that breathes life into Istanbul’s cultural and artistic landscape. Here, art will remain at the center of life—sometimes in our exhibition halls, sometimes in our hotels, and sometimes woven into everyday experiences. What matters most to me is that anyone who steps through the gates of Tersane Istanbul is no longer just a guest, but a true part of this journey—a valued companion along the way.”
